1997 Schwinn Homegrown XTR

1997 Schwinn Homegrown XTR

In the mid-90's Schwinn created their short-lived but much-loved "Homegrown" series - high performance, lightweight mountain bikes made in the USA. The 1997 Homegrown Factory XTR was the first Homegrown actually made by Yeti in Durango, Colorado. A top-of-the-line hardtail of its day, it is now coveted by mountain bike enthusiasts.

We rigged this one up as an urban jammer with a ridged Salsa fork, XTR drivetrain, hand built Rhyno Lite rims with XTR hubs, and Salsa Cowbell handlebars.
